Construction & Renovations
We have a strong commitment to the constant betterment of our facilities. As such, we have begun a construction and renovation program that will eventually impact every residential facility and introduce new environments into the housing inventory. With these improvements are a number of goals including:
Health & Safety
Current Renovation Projects
Current Construction Projects
The current Aztec Recreation Center is 78,000 sq. ft. The project will include a combination of new construction and renovation which will add roughly 60,000 sq. ft. of space resulting in a total facility size of approximately 138,000 sq. ft.
Construction, renovation, and repair projects will necessarily cause increased noise
around directly involved and nearby residences, as well as throughout other housing
areas. While all possible measures are taken to minimize the impact of these projects,
any resident moving into or living in affected areas should be prepared to accept
the unavoidable aspects of life in a neighborhood under construction.
As with all construction projects, efforts will be made to mitigate the impacts of this project on our residents in nearby communities by creating safe practices to protect students and staff, regulating hours of construction, notifying area residents of noisy work where possible, managing dust and adhering to strict codes of conduct for construction crews. Continual inspections and work may occur in and around the communities prior to and up to a year after a major construction or renovation project. Some residents may be required to move to different rooms/apartments or temporarily vacate their current rooms while work is underway.
