Room Switch Requests

2024-25 Sophomore & Upper-Division Residents

*The chart above indicates total bed spaces in each sophomore community (not total available for room switches). Please use this chart to see the likelihood of a room switch to a specific building. 

Sophomores and upper-division students for the 2024-25 academic year may request a room or building change by completing the online Pre-Occupancy Room Switch Request Form. Pre-occupancy room switch requests will be processed from April 2 to July 31. To access the form, please sign into your @sdsu email account. Only one request is permitted per resident. If we are not able to accommodate your request prior to move-in, we will revisit your request in September.

There is a $30 processing charge for pre-occupancy room or building changes that are accommodated. For changes or questions about the request, email [email protected].

2023-24 Current Residents 

The Post-Occupancy Room Switch Request Form is now available. While we cannot guarantee roommate groups, room types or that all requests will be fulfilled, we will work diligently to process requests as quickly as possible as space becomes available. 

If an eligible accommodation is found, an offer will be sent to your @sdsu email. You will have 24 hours to accept or decline the offer. If the offer is accepted, you will be asked to move the following Friday and given through Sunday to complete your transition. There is a $100 processing charge for post-occupancy room or building changes that are accommodated.
