The Maya and Olmeca residence community, also known as the ‘Red Brick Buildings,’ are scheduled for renovations starting in May, 2018. Maya Hall will receive the first renovation from May, 2018 through December, 2018. Olmeca Hall will follow with a renovation schedule of January, 2019 through July, 2019. The Olmeca and Maya renovation projects have a total construction budget of $22,000,000.

The renovations will include a complete refresh of the student rooms, restrooms, laundry rooms and common areas. Student rooms will receive new flooring, window coverings, paint, HVAC and furniture. Restrooms will have new fixtures, toilet stalls and showers. Common area renovation will include new kitchens for each community, pool tables, furniture and TV’s.

The Maya and Olmeca residence community offers double occupancy rooms and will be the home to over 400 students. The community shares amenities with Zura Hall and Tenochca Hall residents. The amenities include a pool, sand volleyball court, putting green, ping-pong tables and plenty of comfortable outdoor seating areas to enjoy the beautiful San Diego weather.

Located on the east side of the San Diego State University campus off East Campus Drive and Montezuma Road, the Maya and Olmeca residence community is surrounded by Zura Hall, Tenochca Hall and Cuicacalli Suites. A short walk over the Aztec Walk bridge will bring students to the Aztec Student Union. Through the Student Union students will have direct access to the SDSU Campus. Across the street from Maya and Olmeca, students will have access to Starbucks, Trader Joe’s, Broken Yolk, Eureka, Wings & Things and other future tenants.
