STEPS TO APPLY FOR ON-CAMPUS HOUSING
1. Once you are logged into WebPortal,
access the housing application by clicking on “Housing Application” on the
left-hand side. If you are not required to live-on campus you will need to
indicate interest in housing by clicking “Housing Interest” and selecting the
2. Select “Fall 2013” under Period.
3. View Housing Instructions: Once you have viewed them, click “Return to
Admissions Status” or “Return to Housing Application” at the bottom of the
4. Complete Living Choices
a. Disability: If you have a disability that will affect your placement, use this
section to provide details.
b. Housing Over the Breaks: If you require housing during Thanksgiving,
Semester, and/or Spring breaks, use this section to provide details.
c. Room Type Preference: Rank your room type preferences from highest (1) to
lowest (6). Students may choose room types and living communities. Returning
students may also select a specific residence hall or room. Costs vary
depending upon selections.
d. Roommate Request: If you have a specific roommate in mind, use this
section to request him/her. All requests are taken under consideration, but are
e. Assignment Preferences Ranking: Assign housing preference priority among
Room Type, Roommate, and Housing Over the Breaks. Since students have the
option to provide personal preferences in those sections, not all of those
requests can necessarily be accommodated. For this reason, the Office of
Housing Administration will base your placement off of your assignment
preferences ranking. The Office of Housing Administration tries to accommodate
all requests, but due to space availability it is not always possible.
i. Example: While completing the Living Choices (See Step 4), Kieran specified that
he wants a double room in the Men Engaging in Technology and Science (METS)
area (See Section c.), wants to live with Matt (See section d.), and wants
housing over the breaks (See Section b.). Kieran is very excited about the METS
area so he would choose “Room Type” as his first preference. Kieran also wants
to live with Matt, but not as much as he wants to be in METS, so he would
choose “Roommate” as his second preference. Having housing over the breaks is
the least important preference to Kieran, so he would choose “Housing Over
Break” as his third preference.
f. Personal and Roommate Preferences: These questions are used to match
students that do not have a roommate preference. You should be honest and think
carefully about your answers to receive the best roommate placement match based
on your preferences.
g. Meal Plan Choice: Select a meal plan and an apartment meal plan. All
students living in residence halls must have a meal plan. Non first-time
freshmen living in apartments are not required to have a meal plan, but may
choose to have one. For more information on the various meal plans that are
offered, visit the Dining Services website.
h. Authorization for Release of Information: If you select yes and provide your
information, your first name and phone number will be distributed to your
roommate before move-in.
5. Complete Meningitis Vaccine Information (freshmen only): Use this section to inform the Office
of Housing Administration if you have received the vaccine or if you will
receive the vaccine before occupancy begins. Students are not required to
receive the vaccine.
6. Complete the Student Housing License Agreement Form: Use this section to complete your
License Agreement. If applicable, please enter your cell phone number. Note:
If you selected the Aztec Journey, Global Pathways, or Gender-Neutral area
during the Living Choices section,
you will need to fill out the additional forms found in this section.
a. Students 17 & under: Students that are
must have a guarantor (usually a parent/guardian). You will be asked to enter
your guarantor information in this section. Make sure that all of your
information is correct. Then, read and initial all terms. Once you are finished, click “Continue” and
review the information. If it is all correct, click “Submit” in order to submit
the form electronically. This form also needs to be printed, signed (by you and
your guarantor), and mailed to the Office of Housing Administration in order to
reserve a space for you (See Step 8).
b. Students 18 & over: Make sure that all of your information is correct.
Then, read and initial all terms. Finally, enter your RedID number in order to
electronically sign the License Agreement. Once you are finished, click

order to submit the form electronically. Your electronic signature substitutes
a physical signature, so you do not need to print, sign, and mail the License
Agreement. No guarantor is required.
c. Piedra del Sol Addendum (if applicable): The Aztec Journey area is located in
the Piedra del Sol (PdS) apartment complex. Unlike the traditional residence
halls, PdS remains open for residents over the summer. For the 2013-14 fee
period, occupancy begins on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. The License
Agreement is for an 11.5-month period or, if the student begins residence after
the year is in progress, until no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2014.
By signing this addendum, you are agreeing to reside in PdS for the entire
occupancy period. Students that are 17 and under must print, sign, and mail
this addendum to the Office of Housing Administration (See Step 8). Students
that are 18 and over may electronically sign and submit this addendum.
d. Global Pathways Supplemental Application (if applicable): By applying for the Global Pathways
area, you are committing to be actively involved in the community. This
supplemental application gauges your interest in the learning community. It
also provides information to assist in providing you with the best roommate
placement match based on your preferences. You should be honest and think
carefully about your answers. The supplemental application is electronically
submitted to the Office of Housing Administration, no forms need to be printed.
e. Gender-Neutral Supplemental Application (if applicable): Roommate pairings in the
Gender-Neutral Housing area will not be based on gender identity. In other
words, roommate pairings may be coed. By applying for the Gender-Neutral area,
you are agreeing to have a roommate of any gender. The supplemental application
is electronically submitted to the Office of Housing Administration, no forms
need to be printed.

of Financial Aid and Scholarships)
