Summer Housing

Living in San Diego State University Housing provides a great way to experience San Diego during the summer. Our residence hall provides a safe, comfortable and convenient place to call home. Please see below for information about eligibility requirements, dates, rates, accommodations, meal plans, and parking.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be enrolled in one or more regular SDSU summer courses with a valid Red ID number and in good academic and judicial standing to be eligible to apply for summer housing. Students enrolled in course with the College of Extended Studies are not eligible. Exceptions to these requirements will be considered, but must be requested in writing and approved by the Office of Housing Administration prior to the submission of the Summer Housing License Agreement.

Summer Housing 2019 Dates

First available move-in: Monday, May 27 at 12:00 p.m.

Last available move-out: Friday, August 16 at 12:00 p.m.

Summer Housing 2019 Rates

Double Room: $1,440 for 30 nights*

*30-night minimum required

A housing bill will be posted on your Student Account. Full payment is required for a completed application.

Payment plans and postponements will not be available. The rates above are per person rates for a space in University Towers Residence Hall. All residents must stay at least 30 consecutive nights. After the 30-nights, residents will be charged a weekly rate of $336. The weekly rate will not be prorated.


Double spaces are offered and will be available in University Towers Residence Hall. Each room is equipped with a bed, desk and chair, dresser, and closet/wardrobe for each student. The building floors are co-ed; the rooms and bathrooms are single-gender.

  • Wireless internet
  • Community kitchen
  • Laundry room (Red ID card operated)
  • 24-hour front desk operation
  • Custodial service in common areas


The optional summer meal plan includes a $75.00 declining balance per week. Indicate your interest on your application. Meal plan funds must be used by noon on the day you move out. Refunds are not available.

Parking Options

University Towers maintains its own parking lot. Parking permits can be purchased at the University Towers front desk at the time of move in.

Parking Structure 7 can also be used. Purchase a parking permit on your Online Student Account found at

To apply for Summer Housing 2019, please contact the Office of Housing Administration via email at [email protected] to be given access to the application. Once you have access you will be able to apply through your Housing Portal. The application will become available starting April 2019.

For reasonable consideration, please apply at least one week before your requested move in date.
