Apply for Housing

Prior to applying to live on campus, review the University Residency Requirement

How to Apply

First-Year Housing
For incoming first-year students, detailed application instructions for first-year housing for the 2024-25 academic year are available on the 2024-25 Academic Year application page.

Sophomore Housing
If you're currently a first-year student residing on campus and planning for your sophomore year, visit the Sophomore Housing Lottery application page for detailed information about the sophomore housing lottery process.

Spring or Summer Only
Spring or Summer only housing is available to students who meet the eligibility requirements. Visit the Spring Only or Summer Only application page for more information about the application and eligibility requirements.

Upper-Division Housing
For upper-division, transfer and graduate students seeking on-campus housing for the 2024-25 academic year, please note that availability is limited. If you're interested in living on campus, you can join the 2024-25 On-Campus Housing Interest List via the Housing Portal, which opens on February 1, 2024. However, please be aware that on-campus housing for upper-division, transfer and graduate students is not guaranteed and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis depending on availability. In the meantime, we encourage you to explore off-campus housing options. For your convenience and to help ease your search, we have compiled a list of SDSU-affiliated and non-affiliated communities, which you can view on the Off-Campus Housing page.
