Room Switch Requests

2026-27 Sophomore and Upper-Division Residents

Sophomores and upper-division students for the 2026-27 academic year may request a room or building change by completing the Pre-Occupancy Room Switch Request Form. Pre-occupancy room switch requests will be processed from April 6–July 31. To access the form, please sign in to your @sdsu email account. Only one request is permitted per resident. If we are unable to accommodate your request before move-in, you will need to submit a Post-Occupancy Room-Switch request in September.

There is a $30 processing charge for pre-occupancy room or building changes that are accommodated. For changes or questions about the request, email [email protected].

2025-26 Residents

The Post-Occupancy Room Switch Request Form is now available. To access the form, you must use your @sdsu email account. While we will do our best to accommodate your request, options are limited, and a room switch cannot be guaranteed. 

If an eligible accommodation is found, an offer will be sent to your @sdsu email. You will have 24 hours to accept or decline the offer. If the offer is accepted, you will be asked to move the following Friday and given through Sunday to complete your transition. There is a $100 processing charge for post-occupancy room or building changes that are accommodated.
