In preparation for housing move-out, you are required to complete the Move-Out Form by Friday, May 8, on the Housing Portal, which can be found under the “Forms” menu. In the form, you will confirm your acknowledgment of our move-out policies and procedures.

Housing Portal

Note: Residents who do not follow checkout procedures will be assessed improper checkout fees and may also incur cleaning and/or damage charges.

If you have a 9-month license agreement, you must move out within 24 hours of your last final exam and no later than 10 a.m on Friday, May 15. If your schedule allows, we recommend moving out earlier in the week to help avoid last-minute challenges.

move-out-appointment-iconCheckout Appointment

You are required to attend the closing meeting provided by your building staff to make sure your checkout process is complete. Your RA/CA will inform you of the date, time and location of the meeting. Once you know your finals schedule, sign up for a checkout appointment time with your RA/CA.

Checkout appointments will be available as follows:

  • 10 a.m.–10 p.m., each day from Saturday, May 9, through Thursday, May 14.
  • 8–10 a.m., Friday, May 15.

We encourage you not to wait until the last appointment day to ensure you have access to moving supplies and to avoid delays.

During your checkout appointment, your RA/CA will inspect your space, collect your keys and check you out of your assigned space. This appointment is important because it can help you avoid being billed for an improper checkout or a late key return. Be sure to hand in your keys to your RA/CA or the front desk to avoid improper checkout charges. Keys cannot be returned by mail. Your RHC will complete a secondary inspection after you move out to assess any fees for excessive trash, cleaning and damage.

move-out-appointment-iconDamage Responsibility Form

Save yourself from disputes and unnecessary damage fees. Avoid move-out fees by completing the “Damage Responsibility Form” before your checkout appointment, designating which areas you are taking responsibility for. If a resident does not take responsibility for a damaged or improperly cleaned area, charges will be divided amongst all residents of the unit.

Traditional and Suite-Style Communities:
Chapultepec, Huaxyacac, Maya, Olmeca, South Campus Plaza, Sunset Plaza, Tenochca, University Towers and Zura.
Students residing in these traditional and suite-style communities should complete the Damage Responsibility Form prior to their checkout appointment.

Apartment-Style Communities:
Aztec Corner, Granada, Huaxtepec, M@College, Metepec, Mixquic, Piedra del Sol, Tacuba, Tepeyac, Toltec, Villa Alvarado, Viva, Zacatepec and Zapotec.
Students residing in these apartment-style communities should complete the Damage Responsibility Form prior to their checkout appointment.
