University Residency Requirement

All incoming first-year students from outside SDSU’s local admissions area are required to live on campus their first and second year at the university. Additionally, all local students in the Weber Honors College are required to live on campus during their first year.

In order to complete their intent to enroll process, incoming first-year students who are required to live on campus must complete the student housing license agreement and submit the initial non-refundable payment fee on the Housing Portal by May 15. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of the offer of admission.

Note that incoming students will be granted access to the Housing Portal approximately 24 hours after submitting their Intent to Enroll payment in my.SDSU. After receiving access, students will need to activate DUO multi-factored authentication before logging into the Housing Portal. Please plan for additional time to complete this step.

Students From Within SDSU’s Local Admissions Area

Incoming first-year students who are from within SDSU’s local admissions area, and are not part of the Weber Honors College, are not required to live on campus.

Local students interested in living on campus are encouraged to complete the Housing Interest List on the Housing Portal as early as March 1. On-campus housing for local students is not guaranteed, and will be offered upon availability on a first-come, first-served basis.

If space is available, students will be notified on a rolling basis between May 15 and up until move-in.
