Transfer Student Housing
As a transfer student, you have several housing options for living on campus.
Option 1: Designated Transfer Floor at South Campus Plaza
Become part of a dynamic community designed specifically for transfer students on a dedicated floor at South Campus Plaza. This option includes:
- Suite-style units in South Campus Plaza featuring double-occupancy rooms with private bathrooms
- 9-month license agreements only
- Fully furnished for comfort and convenience
- All-inclusive amenities such as WiFi, TV Streaming, utilities and on-site laundry
- Ideal for students looking to build relationships with fellow transfer peers
All spaces in the dedicated transfer floor in South Campus Plaza are double-occupancy, meaning each resident will have one roommate. Apply early, as spaces are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Option 2: Interest List for Sophomore & Upper-Division Housing
Transfer students may also join the interest list for spaces in our sophomore and upper-division communities. This option includes:
- Apartment-style and suite-style units featuring various room types
- 9 or 11.5-month license agreements (based on availability)
- Fully furnished for comfort and convenience
- All-inclusive amenities such as WiFi, TV Streaming, utilities and on-site laundry
- A mixed community environment with sophomores and upper-division students
Housing availability for this option is limited and determined after the Sophomore Housing Lottery is completed.
Both options provide excellent opportunities to engage in on-campus living while fostering academic and personal success.

Both options are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Complete the Transfer Housing Interest List Form to secure your spot on the interest list!
On the form, you may indicate your preference for Option 1, Option 2, or both, based on the first available. Please note that submitting the Transfer Housing Interest List Form does not guarantee on-campus housing.
The Office of Housing Administration will begin reviewing the interest list in April and will continue to monitor availability throughout the summer leading up to move-in. If space becomes available, students will be notified via their @sdsu email with instructions on how to complete the housing license agreement on the Housing Portal.
