Transfer Student Housing

As a transfer student, there are a limited number of on-campus housing opportunities for the 2026–27 academic year. The Office of Housing Administration will review Housing Interest List submissions and, if space is available, will extend one of the following housing offers.

Scenario 1: Designated Transfer Floor at South Campus Plaza

Students may be offered placement on a dedicated floor designed specifically for transfer students at South Campus Plaza. This housing offer includes:

  • Suite-style units in South Campus Plaza featuring double-occupancy rooms with private bathrooms
  • 9-month license agreements only
  • Fully furnished for comfort and convenience
  • All-inclusive amenities such as Wi-Fi, TV streaming, utilities and on-site laundry
  • Ideal for students looking to build relationships with fellow transfer peers

All spaces in the dedicated transfer floor in South Campus Plaza are double-occupancy, meaning each resident will have one roommate. Spaces are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Scenario 2: General Sophomore and Upper-Division Housing

Students may also be offered placement within sophomore and upper-division communities. This housing offer may include:

  • Apartment-style and suite-style units featuring various room types
  • 9 or 11.5-month license agreements (based on availability)
  • Fully furnished for comfort and convenience
  • All-inclusive amenities such as Wi-Fi, TV Streaming, utilities and on-site laundry
  • A mixed community environment

Availability for this housing offer is also limited and determined after rising sophomores select housing through the Sophomore Housing Lottery.

Both scenarios provide excellent opportunities to engage in on-campus living while fostering academic and personal success.

Apply

Housing offers are limited and extended on a first-come, first-served basis. To be considered, students must complete the Housing Interest List on the Housing Portal

The Office of Housing Administration will begin reviewing submissions in April and will continue monitoring availability throughout the summer leading up to move-in.

If space becomes available, students will be contacted via their SDSU email with details of the housing offer available at that time. To accept the offer, students must complete the license agreement on the Housing Portal by the stated deadline. Students who do not complete the license agreement by the deadline will remain on the Housing Interest List for future availability.

Submitting the Housing Interest List form does not guarantee on-campus housing.

Because on-campus housing is not guaranteed for this population, upper-division and graduate students are strongly encouraged to explore SDSU-affiliated and non-affiliated housing via our Off-Campus Housing resource page.
