COVID-19 Rapid Test Instructions

All residential students are required to get COVID-19 tested following winter break, whether or not you remain on campus or go home. Pick up a COVID-19 rapid test at your community front desk. Your rapid test must be completed within 1 (one) hour of return to your residential community or by Jan. 16, whichever comes sooner, and uploaded to HealtheConnect

*Residents who have tested positive in the last 90 days should not take this test. Your case must be processed by the COVID Clearance Team and your most recent test must be uploaded to HealtheConnect. Without documentation on file, you will not be excused from testing requirement. If you meet this criteria, please return your unused test kit to your front desk or RA/CA.

Rapid Test Instructions
  1. Open the kit and use the instructions in the box to self administer one test. Put the remaining materials back in the box.
  2. Wait approximately 15 minutes for your results to populate.
  3. Once your results have populated, take a picture of your test next to your SDSUcard with your cell phone. Make sure the test results and your RedID number appear in the photo.

  5. Scroll to the External Test Result section. Input the date of your test and the results and click "Submit".
