FAQs

  • How am I notified when my package is ready for pick up?

Once your package is logged at your front desk, you will receive an email from Notifii to your @sdsu emaill, notifying you that your package is ready for pick-up. The email will include the tracking number and a photo of the package.

  • When am I able to pick up my package?

Once you receive an email from Notifii to your @sdsu email, you are able to collect your package from your front desk, during your front desk operation hours. Please note that if your hall is closed for break, you will need to wait until your hall reopens to collect your mail.

  • What gets logged and what gets placed in my mailbox?

Letters and standard mail will be placed in the community mailboxes and packages will be held at the community front desk. The residential communities do not accept outgoing mail.

  • Why is there a delay in package delivery?

Residents are asked in their initial floor meeting to wait 7-10 business days for packages. This is for many factors, including the impacts of severe decreases of staff on campus and that couriers had announced in early fall to expect package delays due to layoffs, limited staff working and COVID-19 package safety protocol. As expected, there are significant delays around holidays due to a large influx in packages. A majority of delays are caused by packages being addressed to just a first name or a nickname. Other delays are caused by the package not being addressed to the student’s correct residence hall.

  • If I purchase overnight or 2-day shipping, will it arrive sooner?

Since our residence halls are enclosed buildings with specific operation hours, it is a longer process to get packages to residents, as opposed to ordering a package to a home address where it can simply be left on a porch. Because of this, we do not suggest purchasing overnight or 2-day shipping. For students needing items urgently, we suggest they rent a PO box or use a local Amazon locker.

  • Can I mail a package or letter at the front desk?

The residential communities do not accept outgoing mail. Please locate your nearest UPS, USPS or other facility drop-off center.
