About
Texcoco is a suite-style community for first-year and sophomore students. Suite-style halls are co-ed (single-gender by room) with a private restroom shared by roommates. Texcoco has 323 suites with triple-occupancy room types. This community is conveniently located on the west side of campus near the Tony Gwynn Stadium. Texcoco is our newest residential community, which will open in fall 2026 as part of the Evolve Student Housing project.
Ancient Aztec Meaning
Texcoco was the home to the Acolhua, a dominant group of the Aztec Empire.

Construction Impact:
As part of SDSU’s Evolve Student Housing project, construction is underway on Metepec, a new residential community. Construction will continue throughout the 2026-27 academic year. Metepec is expected to open in spring 2028.
The project is part of SDSU’s strategic priority to offer additional and financially competitive on-campus student housing.
Texcoco is located near the construction area, and residents will receive communications to their SDSU email regarding construction hours, expected noise levels and any changes to the project schedule. For more information, visit the Evolve Student Housing webpage.
