Join us for the 2026 SDSU Move-In Volunteer Experience!

SDSU Housing Move-In Day Volunteers

We are thrilled to welcome approximately 9,200 students to campus for the 2026-27 academic year! Students living in the residential communities will make their big move onto campus from Wednesday, Aug. 19, through Friday, Aug. 21, and we need enthusiastic volunteers to make this transition smooth and memorable.

Dates: Thursday, Aug. 20 and Friday, Aug. 21
Two Shifts Each Day: 9 a.m.–noon or noon–3 p.m.

Check-In Location: Cuicacalli Walkway

Volunteer Shift Roles:

  • Greeter: Welcome families onto campus and into their new home, answer questions, provide directions, and bring positive energy to move-in day!
  • Mover: Help students and families unload cars, move boxes, push bins, and get settled into their new home.
  • Volunteer Hospitality: Keep volunteers energized by providing snacks, water, and refreshments, and by checking in throughout their shifts.

Tasks Include:

  • Greeting students and families
  • Answering questions
  • Providing directions
  • Assisting with unloading and moving items
  • Sharing your SDSU experiences and insights
